Olivier Bullion, First Secretary and Vice Consul, Economic Affairs

In this presentation, Olivier Bullion will discuss the current status of the economy and the outlook for the coming year. The presentation will also offer the opportunity to discuss the recent National Party Congress and the budget released by the Ministry of Finance, the effort of the government to rebalance the economy, and the gradual shift of the Chinese economy from a production-base to a consumption-based model. Finally, the presentation will address risks and opportunities the Chinese economy will be facing in the coming years, and will be followed by a Q&A session.

About the Speaker

Olivier Bullion is a career diplomat currently assigned at the Canadian Embassy in Beijing as First Secretary and Vice Consul in charge of Economic Affairs. 
 
Mr. Bullion''s past assignments include China Desk Officer for East Asia Division, Policy Officer for the Investment Branch and a prior posting to Hong Kong as an Economic Officer.  Prior to joining the Department of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Bullion was an Economist with the Canadian Revenue Agency.

Mr. Bullion studied in France and Germany. He has earned a Masters degree in Economics (2001) as well as a Masters degree in Geopolitics (1996). "
